Straughn High School JAG Program Wins Bright Ideas Grant

Covington Electric Cooperative asked teachers one simple question: “What engaging classroom project could you bring to your classroom with $1,500?”

The Bright Ideas Grant program gives teachers a chance to explore new possibilities. We are thrilled to announce that Whitney Geohagan, JAG Specialist at Straughn High School, won the grant and will be using it to launch a new project called Well Mannered Wednesdays.

With the grant funds, elementary students will learn etiquette skills to set them up for a more successful future. Lessons will include introductions, common courtesies, table manners, and the art of conversation. At the end of the course, students will receive an invitation to attend an etiquette lunch to demonstrate the skills they have learned.

See flyer below for more details.

Congratulations, Straughn High School JAG!
